HELP SOCIETY HAFLONG ORGANIZES FINANCIAL LITERACY AWARENESS PROGRAMME

27 October 2024 || Helping Everyone Live and Prosper Society or HELP Society organized a free Candle Making Training Programme and Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme at Choto Rongmalai village, Mahur, Dima Hasao. This unique undertaking was dedicated to promoting skill development, entrepreneurship, and women’s empowerment in the region. By providing hands-on training in candle making and valuable entrepreneurship insights, HELP Society aims to help local women tap into their entrepreneurial potential, equipping them with the skills needed to create sustainable livelihoods and contribute to their communities’ economic and social well-being.

Skill development is crucial for economic independence, especially in rural areas where formal jobs may be scarce. Candlemaking not only offers practical skills but also opens pathways to entrepreneurship, enabling women to transform their craft into viable businesses. This initiative encourages participants to see beyond personal use of their skills and envision small-scale enterprises that can support their families and uplift their communities. The training introduced participants to various candle types, including decorative and scented candles and eco-friendly practices. They learned essential techniques for crafting high-quality products, which can be marketed locally and online, creating additional income streams.

The program also equipped participants with the knowledge to establish and manage small businesses. Candle Trainer Sima Kalwar shared insights on pricing, target audiences, branding, and financial management. Success stories from local entrepreneurs served as inspiration for the women, motivating them to pursue their business ideas. A core focus of HELP Society is empowering women. The training provided a supportive environment where participants could connect, share ideas, and build a network. This sense of community fosters collaboration and encourages women to motivate one another in their entrepreneurial journeys.

HELP Society expresses heartfelt thanks to the trainer, volunteers, and community leaders who made this program possible. Special recognition goes to the enthusiastic participants who are now taking steps to transform their lives.

The Candle Making Training Programme and Entrepreneurship Awareness initiative exemplify the HELP Society’s commitment to skill development and women’s empowerment. By equipping women with valuable skills and confidence, HELP Society is paving the way for a brighter, more sustainable future.
